How to play
- Choose a difficulty. Easy, Medium, Hard or Expert — the generator builds a fresh grid with exactly one solution every time. Easier boards hand you around forty given numbers; Expert leaves just over twenty, so every placement has to be earned by logic.
- Select a cell. Tap or click any square on a touch screen, or move the highlighted cursor with arrow keys if your device has physical page buttons or a paired keyboard.
- Enter a number. Use the on-screen number pad or press the matching key for digits 1–9. A digit that breaks Sudoku's row, column or box rule is flagged at once with an inverted black-and-white cell, so wrong turns are obvious on an e-ink display.
- Pencil in candidates. Turn on notes mode to jot small candidate digits in the corners of a cell before you commit — the same habit as pencil-and-paper Sudoku, and close to essential on Hard and Expert boards.
- Fix mistakes cleanly. Clear an entry with the eraser, and use Undo to step back through your recent moves one at a time instead of rebuilding the whole board.
- Track your session. A built-in timer counts up while you play, and your board is saved as you go on most devices — close the browser mid-puzzle and pick up where you left off.
- Finish the grid. The puzzle is solved when every row, every column and every 3×3 box contains the digits 1–9 exactly once. Since each puzzle has a single unique solution, patient deduction — never guessing — is always enough.

Why it works on e-ink
Sudoku is a static puzzle and e-ink is a static screen, so nothing here blinks, animates or refreshes behind your grid. Only the cell you touch redraws. The display behaves like printed paper — comfortable for long sessions in daylight, at essentially zero battery cost.

Is it really free?
Yes. Every puzzle is free to play with no account, no paywall and no ads. The site is part of the E-Ink.me family and is kept running alongside the free e-reader tools on the main site, so there is nothing to buy and nothing to sign up for.
Does it work on my Kindle Paperwhite?
If your Paperwhite is a 2021 or later model on firmware 5.13.7 or newer, yes — open the built-in browser, type in the site address and start playing. Older Paperwhites with the early experimental browser can display this page as plain text, but they cannot run the puzzle itself.
Do I need to jailbreak my Kindle?
No. The game runs entirely in your Kindle's built-in web browser. There is no app to sideload, no hack to apply and no warranty to worry about — opening a website is an ordinary thing for a Kindle to do. If your device can load a web page, it can load this game.
Can I play offline?
You need an internet connection the first time you open the page, because the site is delivered as a normal web page rather than a downloadable app. After it loads, the puzzle runs locally on your device — but e-reader browsers are not built for offline use, so plan on being connected when you start.
